This is a song about insurance fraud. Of course, it is about much more than that. Like, say, the emptiness of modern life, unrequited parental love, alienation, the lethal combination of drugs and video games, and arson. Though I might be putting too fine a point on it. You decide what it's about.
lyrics
The Yacht
We’ve had good times and we’ve had bad
And we have no one to thank but Dad
Sail the yacht over the horizon
And set it on fire
He made a fortune the old fashioned way
Out of chicken wire and paper mache
Sail the yacht over the horizon
And set it on fire
I spend my time at the local arcade
Smoking atom bombs and drinking lemonade
Sail the yacht over the horizon
And set it on fire
We had everything you and I
Now everything’s gone and I don’t know why
Sail the yacht over the horizon
And set it on fire
The big banks are closing their ranks
The feds want a sit down as soon as we can
Daddy always knew how to send ‘em away
And I think I want to move to Hollywood
Or maybe just start a band
The future is just a cigarette flick away
No one knows how they’re going to be born
The prettier the rose, the shittier the thorn
Sail the yacht over the horizon
And set it on fire
